About PROGNOSIS
To date, more than 2,000 patients have been enrolled in the German bronchiectasis registry PROGNOSIS (The Prospective German Non-CF Bronchiectasis Registry). The registry includes adult patients with bronchiectasis not caused by cystic fibrosis (CF). The establishment of the registry aims to answer important epidemiological questions that have not yet been addressed, such as the age and gender distribution, the aetiology of the disease, the microbiology and forms of treatment.

Bronchiectasis is a condition in which the airways are permanently dilated, causing mucus to build up and leading to recurrent infections. The burden of the disease on those affected is high, as chronic cough, phlegm and infections significantly impair quality of life.
